*****MENTAL NVIDIA GTX 470 DEALS - PRICES from £164.99 Delivered!!*****

Lovely, needed to buy one today anyway.

Bought a Gainward, hoping the noise output is comparable to, or quieter than the 4870 it's replacing.

Do these prices mean that a GTX 570 is on it's way? £165 for this knd of power is an uber bargain.

It certainly means something is on its way, but you'll never get OCUK to admit that...mainly because of NDA's and self interest in clearing out 470 stock...

We have no info regarding GTX 570, yet.........

Were not clearing stock as I've just had 400 more 470's arrive from Asus, but those are at higher price.

We just doing a very good deal, if we were clearing stocks, then so would all our competitors too, but you don't see them cutting deals like this. :)

Had a POV OcUK Card in since Monday and its a cracking card tbh.
Mental price on them if you ask me.
As for noise, mine is barely audible over my case fans at idle and not much worse at load tbh.

how do the pov ones look like?

Stock cooler - comes properly boxed with accessories. All the ones I've overclocked have been decent clockers. Fan isn't audiable above average case noise til it hits 65% which you shouldn't reach in normal gaming especially if you use VSync and/or have decent case airflow.

By decent clockers, are you meaning similar to your sig?

All the ones I've OC'd have done atleast 800MHz with only minor voltage increases - I suspect most will do between 810 and 850 with 1.087v but generally I've been aiming for a safe OC with other peoples cards.

Good then:)
With regard to temps, I tend to run quite an aggressive fan profile, i.e anything over 70degs will ramp to 100%, so even at 800 OC, will temps be ok or not dissimilar to my current card?
POV appear to produce pretty good cards(thinking of GTX 465 which were binned 470's)

Thanks

It is a bit closer than I'd normally be comfortable with but it should be within spec for this PSU.

OC'd i7 setup + GTX470 SLI pulls around 570watt w/ furmark and my Q9550 pulls ~110watt less at load than an i7 setup.
Id be very tempted to add a second gigabyte, though i thought my psu may be borderline, (corsair hx 850w), particularly with an overclocked i7.

Hmm running 100% @ 70C might be a bit noisey unless you get a low leakage one... the cards will do 80C no problem in gaming which keeps the fan profile below 60%.

In theory it should but yeah it will be right on the line.

I've had it maxed out CPU and both GPUs (GTX470, GTX260) before without any issues tho so fingers crossed.
