I've installed vista on my Macbook pro with a 20GB partition and another 35GB Partition but I now need to make the install partition bigger but cant seem to do it, tried partition magic but it dont like vista

Sorry for the hijack but I have got a copy of Acronis but cannot find an option to merge partitions?

All i can find is an option to take space from one partition and allocate it to another.

Any help?

Well, in order to merge partitions, then how about simply moving from SRC to DEST and shrinking the DEST and then expanding SRC until its done.

Yea thanks, thats what im using, but i cannot find the option to merge or delete partitions!

Could you point me in the right direction?

I dont quite understand you fatrakoon!

Cheers.

Sorry.

Well, ok, SRC means Source, or where the files are gettign moved FROM, and DEST being where they are going to...

For example if you have C: and D: then obviously the files from D: are being moved to C: and therefore D: will be the source or SRC and C: will be the DESTination...

Well, in Windows, move what you can from D: to C: until there is no more room.
Then in Acronis, shrink D: and expand C:

Do this again if need be.

This only works if there is very little room on both.

The thing is, that merging the partitions does not actually merge them at all... It merely makes the D: Partition into a folder on C:

C: and D: will still be seperate partitions.

I think I see where your coming from but thats not what I want, i just want my C and D partitions as one, if this software wont do it can anyone else recommend one that will?
