Metro: 2033, trailer

Game arrived today but wont install until tomorrow.. funny how some people are able to play it and comment on it yet it isn't actually playable yet.

Just got home, and found Metro 2033, RF: Guerilla and the USB Bullet stick waiting :D

The key activated fine, but won't let me install it until 'it's released. No word of when it's out, but the Steam forums say Friday (tomorrow).
The USB stick is pretty nasty tbh; I'll use to just to store the odd piece of software on it I guess.

Has anyone else managed to get their retail version working through Steam? If you did, how are you playing it? (:p)

2 questions:

1. Is the game in stores now?

2. How will it run on my rig (see sig) but with a ATI 5970 (coming saturday:D) in it?

1. If you mean online stores, then yes. I can't speak for high-street stores I'm afraid.

2. Very well. I'm guessing you could have most of the eye candy on, but AA might bring the FPS down a notch. Either way, it'll look good :)

Runs good and looks great on my rig, Q9550, 4GB Ram GTX 260 maxcore, Windows 7 64bit @ 1920x1200.

Normal settings, DX9, 40-80 FPS depending on the scene.

High and Very High setting add more sublte effects, put at a considerable performance hit.

Not tested in DX 10 at all.

30FPS = smoooth gameplay, like Crysis.

I've made a short movie from an early part of the game, obviously it will contain spoilers so don't click if you don't want any part of the game...well spoilt.

Quality of movie will improve, since I have only just uploaded it.

For the people setting the FOV to 90 or wondering about it being 45, apparently this game and BC2 use a vertical FOV setting rather than a horizontal one, so if you wanted a 90 degree FOV like you're used to you'd actually use 65, theres a calculator here.

Personally 65 or 90 just looks too zoomed out so I'm using 57.5 at the moment.
