Metroid Prim 3: Corruption - Wii

Can't wait for this. It looks like it controls really, really well. IGN were quite glowing, saying something along the lines of it being the best controlled console FPS. Some really immersive stuff in there too.

Awesome

When it says One more mission - do you think this'll be the last MP game?

I certainly hope not!

its the last in the trilogy, and retro are meant to be taking a break from metriod games for a little while, they might finish raven blade.

Hopefully ntsc make a metriod prime hunters game for the wii, now that would be class

Why do we have to wait 2 months longer than the US to play this.

Nintendo are really annoying me with not releasing any good games in the UK yet.

Im still waiting for Paper Mario :/

God knows how long galaxy and Smash brothers are going to take to be out here! Really annoying and making me hate the wii!

Because we are in Europe and our money is good enough.

I don't get it either. A week or so i can see simply because of the language localisation, however, it does NOT take 2 months to translate text in any game, even RPGs with a mega tonne of text/voice acting!!

After watching the advert and reading a few more previews i'm slightly concerned that Corruption has gone in a more action orientated direction in favour of exploration and providing the sense of lonely solitude that made Metroid Prime such a great game. I still can't wait, but am apprehensive that something awesome may be altered to suit the Wiimote. 'Hey, we can do kick ass fps now, sod the atmosphere, let's blast things and add some allies to help up the number of explosions'

From what I saw in a dev interview just this week they have kept the puzzles in there along with the morph ball stuff and some new grapple beam uses (the roller coaster rail thing) Graphically it is looking very nice for the system so if all this comes together I don't think there is anything to worry about. After all Prime was THE game of last gen. ;)

It will have a much higher emphasis on shooting and less on puzzles. This is what I gathered from the several articles and previews I've read on it.

Any interview with Retro has shown this to not be the case. There will be slightly more emphasis on action according to them, but definitely not all that much. THe backtracking will also make more sense. The problem with previews is that that have been based on demo levels which are linear by nature and the parts they picked have been the more shooter'ish sections in general.

I for one enjoy the back tracking as long as there is a certain element of guidance that comes with it. Returning to old areas with my new gear/powers to open up new routes etc is great fun imo.

I think this will show the idiots that think the Wii is just a Gamecube with a new controller just how wrong they are.

Well, technically, it is - the hardware isn't that far off. Obviously the controller will make a world of difference. Compare MP2 and MP3 though, they look near identical.

As for Metroid Prime itself - having gone through the second game on Gamecube, I felt the backtracking contained in it was a little extreme. How players want more of this is beyond me. It's equivelant to playing The Library on Halo over and over again.

I am really looking forward to this :)
Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are some of the relatively few games i've played to completion in recent years.

Must complete Twilight Princess first though
