Hey guys,

Has anyone done this particular route? How did you find it?

Just wondernig if its dooable without seeming like a stressful rush and, more importantly, whether there is much to see on the way.

Rough plan would be drive up from the Keys, stop off at Orlando, then up the coast to the Blue Ridge Mountains, then over to Washington DC and onto New York. Trouble is I'm not sure if there is much else in between, or where you'd want to go, etc.

It's about 1400 miles which in theory seems easily dooable in about 2 weeks without feeling two rushed - if you had a couple of driving days - but is it an interesting route?

Your thoughts would be gratefully received.

Thanks :)

would take about 20 hours via the i95 (as the i95 links the two cities) but i would'nt say it would be an interesting drive as it would be all motorway.

4 days at 5hrs a day would be reasonable.

Looking at google maps you really only have the following options:

1. i95 all the way
2. Straddle the i95 stopping / going through random towns.

Possibly a few cool sights to see?

It was originally a 10 days in Florida, flight, 5-6 days in Washington/New York sorta trip. Florida is unfortunately a 'must'.

If you take the I95 then stop at the "South of the Border" SC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_of_the_Border_(attraction)

Shoot over to dollywood in tennessee that's if you like Dolly parton :)
Stop at big truck grills for your food as it's cheap and you get plenty.

Lots to do in Philadelphia like run up the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of art like rocky :D
or have a real Philadelphia steak cheese sandwich.

I have done Hudson(gulf coast) to NY loads
