Hey Team,

So the scenario is this, I have a Blue Yeti Mic that I'm sick of having to move around on my desk when I'm switching between working and gaming, so I want to stick it on a stand that I can swing in and out, so it won't get in the way. I have 4 monitors on my desk 2 x 22" monitors one on top of the other to the left on a Duronic 60cm DM35 pole, in the centre I have a 27" G7 on another 40cm DM35 pole and on the right I have another 22" monitor on a 40cm DM35 pole. There isn't really any available desk space to clamp it to on the side of the desk as the left hand side has my works laptop and is by the doorway into the room so will be in the way and the righthand side of the desk is kinda supporting my wife's desk so no way of clamping on there either.

I looked at getting a mic stand that could bolt to the desk between the left and centre monitors and reach over the top, but they looked like they may be a bit short on the first arm section from the desk to the first joint.

I've just ordered a cheap mic stand that has a detachable clamp, so there's short metal tube that looks about 1cm diameter, that i was thinking of using to connect.

So I was thinking I have 2 options but not sure how to achieve either:

1. Some how attach an arm onto the 60cm left hand pole and on the other end, a clamp for the 1cm tube on the mic stand.

2. Come up with a way of inserting the 1cm tube into the 3.5cm diameter DM35 centre pole and securing it, maybe with some kind of rubber bung, or something.

I've been looking around all day for ideas and either no one has ever thought of doing either of the ideas or my Google Fu has completely failed me!

Any ideas would be appreciated

I wouldn't buy that cheap arm, my Blue Yeti X kept dropping and then the arm broke, so I had to buy the Rode PAS1 Boom arm much better and stronger most youtubers and gamers use it:)

Thanks for your response, I only bought a cheap one because I wanted to see if it was feasible to cobble something together and it was only £8. I just spent over £1k on a 3080ti about 2 weeks ago, so I'm a bit skint and looking to do this on a reasonably low budget. If I can get something working I may upgrade it in a few months. It was more input on the concept and to see if anyone had attempted anything similar.
