Right i posted on this before but that was a while ago. Had a fiddle since then and im still having no luck.
Basically my sister has a 1996 micra and the standard headunit is getting no power. This didnt bother us too much as we have a spare sony cd player to go in.

I purchased the ISO adaptor and aerial adaptor and wired it all up, and nothing. I've used a multimeter to test and it has 12V coming down one wire and the earth seems to be fine. I find it hard to believe that both headunits are broken, especially as it worked fine in my car and its done nothing since. I checked the fuses and they are all ok, including the one on the sony unit so basically i have no idea what the problem could be.

Anyone with a similar problem at all?

Cheers

I'm presuming this is a Micra K11?

Have you tried running a wire from the battery directly to the 12v wire onto the breakout cable on the headunit?

I had this problem with mine and had to do this.

Yea its a K11.
I dont think that'd fix it as i used the multimeter to measure at all points ie at each adaptor, including the one that plugs into the unit and its getting power there. What is confusing however, and it may be irrelevant, but the wire coming from the car has 12V coming down the black wire, then on the adaptor it switches across to the red wire. Could this mean the adaptor is wired up incorrectly?

Cheers

I don't remember seeing the power wire changing colour so maybe you could try continuing the black wire to the head unit?

Dont suppose you can remember which position the power wire is on your head unit can you i.e. bottom left or 2nd left etc?
Have you added your own earth at all?

Cheers

I'll check tomorrow for you mate - can't get to the car at the mo.

Have you googled for a diagram?

The only earth I've installed myself is for my amp in the boot, didn't have to worry about the headunit one.
