Im looking for a Micro ATX Case for a core i7 any suggestions ?

I'm thinking about Silverstone SG01 and Lian Li 350/351 anyone tried these or have any other suggestions ?

In particular I know that the SG01 can only take a 78 mm high cpu heatsink, not sure about the lian- li's.

Your going to want a SUGO1-F if you can get one as the normal SUGO will not take any long graphics cards (4870 is the longest that will fit). Your right about the SUGO taking very restricted heatsinks, I would recommend a Silverstone NT06-E, but youll need to find out if Silverstone do a 1366 retention clip for it as im not aware of one, but they may do it. Whatever cooler you get you want it to blow air up not suck it down or youll get air trapping over the CPU from the PSU fan sucking air up. Cooling is a real problem with these really high ends pieces in such a small case so you want to plan out and research what your getting before making any orders.

Ive never used the lian-li so im not sure about that. I love my SUGO case, even if its been hard work getting everything cooled and sorted.

The NT06 does not offer enough cooling for a core I7.

Look at my thread here: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1381519&highlight=Noctua+sugo

The aluminium normal Sugo is nicer and can also come with windows and can easily by modded to take longer graphics cards.

The new Asus x58 board comes with holes for core2 coolers, so you will not need retention clips.

Hmmm interesting, ive got an NT06-E and I just modded the retention mechanism so it fitted the other way up and stuck a 120mm fan underneath blowing upwards, works a treat my Q6600@3Ghz 1.328v loads at 55oC. I really like what you did with the Noctua cooler though. Do you have any links to modding the case to take the longer graphics card as I would be very interested in doing that.

Thanks

I'd get the Lian-Li V350 personally.

It's not a tower like the Sugo, more of a "box" shape. It does, however, take much bigger coolers. I have a Scythe Mini-Ninja in mine, and it keeps my E8400 nice and cool, even when overclocked to 3.6GHz.

For LGA1366 it would need a special bracket, which is about a fiver.

Would a Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme 120mm fit the lian li ?

I beleive the total height is about 160mm it looks as though it would just fit between the motherboard and underside of the power supply.

Sugo is not tower case...

I suggest Lian Li A05 - small mini tower case that takes full atx mobos.
Take mATX Asus Gene mobo and watercool i7 with PA120.3 rad on top.
That is my suggestion:D
