Microphone turns high pitched and robotic when gaming

Hey there, hoping someone had this and solved it.

Microphone works perfectly in all software until I run a game, then I become robotic chipmunk. This is in discord or steam or Skype and when I record myself.
If I quit the game then everything is perfect again.

Anyone help?

ahh I think I might know what this is, I think. What mic is it dude?

That bottom option, might be your culprit. Or in the realtek driver if you are using that there are compression/enhancement options that can sometimes cause it.

Mine used to do this when my cpu hit 100% load. I tweaked some game settings and that fixed it

So plugging the mic in a different usb slot worked, not sure why the old one caused such an issue, thank you for the help and it seems unplugging and plugging didn't work, had to be a different hole.
