Microsofts ideas for the perfect PC gaming platform

Now, before you get too worked up, this is a year old. And it's an internal video, made as part of Microsoft's ongoing research into the PC gaming market. It's not an official statement of intent, nor is it a sign that this is something the company is definitely working on with an intent to release

But also, considering how badly they ****ed up GFWL/GFw/GFWLMP I'd rather they didn't carry on with this.

Absolutely horrific

That shows what everyone had guessed years ago that MS are just not interested in pushing PC gaming as it would take away from their Xbox division so nothing new. If MS were interested they could give us enhanced versions of Halo, Gears Of War2/3, Alan Wake etc etc but I doubt MS will do much beyond the token efforts they are currently doing.

PC gaming does not really need MS anyway as long as DirectX is updated as & when & the OS is kept stable MS can keep the rest & shove it where the sun never shines ;)

Great, more bloated software that I don't want to use :o. Hope its mostly optional, no doubt Microsoft will force this on some titles.

I think you should've read the description.

It was an internal video (is it just me or did someone put a lot of effort into it?) from last year of probably 1 of many theories. The fact that someone spent so much time producing such a ghastly video is the most disturbing thing here...

Fail. This crap might work on a closed system like 360, but PC gamers like to tweak and fiddle with things until it suits us perfectly.

My wife as a PC gamer would probably like it, if she didn't spend all her time trying to crack all of the hidden object trials. Just trying to imagine explaining to her how she will be buying virtual dresses.

I quite like the GFWL linking with my Xbox 360 account with regards to achievements. I think their store isn't bad either, picked up a fair few games when they were doing those practically give-away prices a couple of months back or so.

Sucks compared to Steam mind you.
