Exactly - same with mashed potatoes.
As soon as you've finished cooking in the pot, give it a quick once-over with water and a washing-up brush. Should take you all of five seconds. It'll save you a lot of hassle later.
see i never understand this, my mum just leaves the mash on the side to go really hard and then puts in dishwasher and not even half comes off, where as i put it under the water, which is a little bit pushed by the power thing, and it gets it all off in like 10 seconds. doesn't make sense why people don't do this.
