Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Really enjoying the game and it's easy to get swarmed by mobs as the AI is quite intelligent, but I'm still quite early into the game and have only killed 2 Captains up to now.

It's definitely a Batman/Assassins Creed mash up which isn't a bad thing and the combat seems quite fluid. The major plus point for me is the ability to counter quite easily as I found in Batman it could be a bit hit 'n' miss at times.

Streaming more tomorrow :D

I've only played an hour or so at the moment, but so far it's been very easy. Is quite like a difficulty setting, I like games being hard from the start.

I'm finding it quite enjoyable though and look forward to a longer session!

It starts off easy! I'm at a power level of 10 or 11 right now and things are damn tough :p

Wow, possibly the best intro to a game I've played. Can't wait to start the game proper.
Looks amazing, running at 200% resolution & still getting an average of 75fps on the benchmark. Happy with that. :D

A lot of people are saying they are now bored after extended play ( On another forum ) think I'll wait till it's budget

Played this for about 5 hours, really enjoying it. One thing I'm struggling with is figuring out how to interrogate worms? I don't seem to get the option to grab them.

I'm bored now. It's nowhere near as good as it's made out to be tbh. It's fun but for me has no lasting appeal.

If only some developers actually spent less time on the woooo intro, nice textures and actually on the game from start to finish :(

I killed the first warchief but I'm REALLY struggling with the others. Not sure if its a lack of abilities at this point, forcing me into side quests etc, or that I'm just not approaching things correctly.

One of my warchiefs was immune to pretty much everything apart from being stunned, so I had to keep jumping behind him to start a wraith combo. Problem was, he also has bodyguards and 2 of them where named -.-

Had to find out intel on the guards and luckily I could do a headshot on one and stealth kill on the other, so when I got rid of those and killed at least 30 other enemies he had, it was finally just me and him. He ended up doing a 1 shot ability (kind of shield bash thing) and instead of kill me, just walked off and the mission reset :(

Very good game though, really enjoying it after 8 hours of play today! According to the stats, I'm only 28% in as well, so must be pretty long, or the other story missions are very short.

8 hours in, and I have only killed one warchief and plenty of captains, but man.. this game is really really tough. I keep dying when there is more than one captain around. About 18.9% complete but finding rather hard to get my sword powerful enough to kill the trash mobs with a few strikes. Arghhh my hand is hurting.

Going to leave it till tomorrow!

Same, I think the sword is the hardest to do the quests on though from what I've seen. Got some amazing dagger runes (2 epic) that basically refill everything on stealth kills.

Ok awesome game so far, 20 mins in :p

r290x with 4930k at 4.6ghz

Intro sections GPU was 455mhz,jumped to 1000mhz on main game entry, Vram was 3gb jumping to 4.005 gb on main game start..........all settings on ultra, guess what they say about the Vram is true.................not installed the texture pack and its looking like I should not! only 4gb of small Vram :p. I guess with the new consoles with the interchangable ram, they are not getting silly with Vram - 1st time in a decade we 'need' to upgrade eh

Some of the abilities you unlock really are game changing when trying to take out hard enemies. Being able to use 2 arrows to teleport away if you plan things right is invaluable tbh. Also found an epic rune that allows me to cheat death if I do a quick time event. Can use it every 2 minutes and it gives me full health, focus and arrows if I avoid death :D

Do you think an FPS gamer could enjoy this?

I've always wondered why they never ventured back into a third person LoTR game like I used to play on the PS2. This looks surprisingly good and I've only just discovered it thanks to this thread and this excellent video in another OcUK thread.

Made another video which is more representative of real game performance.

Sandbox games I enjoyed:
- Watchdogs
- GTA (only ever finished one)
- Assasins Creed BF (fun but lost interest)

Not a fan of RPG but the only RPG-ish games I enjoyed were:
- Darksiders
- Mass Effect 3
- Arkham Series

RPG's I've tried and failed to enjoy:
- Borderlands 2
- Skyrim
- Mass Effect 1

I've always had a hatred for excessive dialogue and in-game conversations that don't lead anywhere (I'm looking at you Mass Effect 1)... so hopefully this is more like Darksiders meets Arkham and Assasins Creed rather than Borderlands 2 samey enemies thrown at you en mass with 20 minute Mass Effect 1 conversations while crafting complex potions from your manually built Skyrim home.

Ok guys I am after the cheapest legit way to get this.

I don't want to be faffing with VPN's or dodgy trade sites, I have sunk too much money into this steam account to risk a ban.

Wouldn't mind a code with the season pass.

The offer code for GMG is not now working (as I think it expired today) any idea on where I can get it?

I thought this was too easy at first but its actually quite hard when you die a few times. The nemesis system is awesome. Loving the rat bag missions
