Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

I'll be playing on it today and possibly crying at how it performs on my olde 6970 GPU. Most likely end up buying a new one by the days end but it'll be worth it - my system needs more gpu punch.

Just waiting for it to unlock.

Just purchased The Premium Edition from Kinguin for my son, it's in his inventory but wont let me add it to his library, getting "This item cannot be added to your library because it is restricted from your country.", anyone else had any issues with Kinguin with SOM, I've purchased quite a few games from them and they've been flawless til now .

The opening cinematics are absolutely gorgeous and WB have enough here to make an animated movie at this rate. Combat is fast and fluid, just like I experienced at Eurogamer over the weekend. No frame rate stutters so far and the whole lot is very smooth. I'll have to play later at lunchtime though as I'm heading out.

In game Benchmark (premium edition with all the DLC):

Average FPS: 53.7 @ 1080p
Min FPS: 24.2

Custom Settings:
Lighting: High
Mesh: High
Motion Blur (Camera Only - may disable this as I hate blur)
Shadow: High
Texture Filtering: Ultra
Texture Quality: High (Game says no, I say gtfo)
Ambient Occlusion: Medium
Vegetable Range: High
DoF, OiT, Tesselation all enabled.

5ghz i7 2600k, 16GB Ram, 2GB 6970 GPU. VRAM was being almost fully used up as I played the game on High textures.

Not bad I think for an old GPU that I'll soon upgrade.

Seriously tempted to get this, as not only does it look fantastic, the bargaintastic price 'Sportofthefuture138' has it at seems hard to pass up. Is anyone running this on a 7970? and if so what does it run like?
Also I've never bought from 'Sportofthefuture138' before, do you guys just add him on steam and ask for a price etc?

Is there a way to check if the Ultra Textures are installed? I cant find them anywhere to download as an addon.

Getting ~45-50fps with everything maxed at 1440p

If you right click game in steam and choose 'view downloadable content' it should be there. If not try this:

'steam://install/311670
Paste that in your browser. Install will fail.
Right click the game, go to properties, and DLC tab. It'll be there, check it and let it download.'

getting between 30 and 50 fps with this maxed out, ultra textures and 3440x1440 res. Crossfire doesn't work though which is annoying as then I would be always hitting about 60 fps.

Cheers, that worked. Just downloading now. I had to force Crossfire too, so getting ~71fps now. CF is a little juddery with some flickering textures.

Having said that, pretty good results at 1440p. Will report back on how Ultra teextures cripple my rig shortly...

What gpu are you using? Hope crossfire profiles don't take to long to surface

I had to tick the "Enable crossfire for applications with no profile" to get it working with my CF 7970 setup. I will test with new drivers later on.

I got crossfire working by the way. Some guy on the steam forums posted an SLI workaround and it works.
Just make a separate profile in the CCC for shadowofmordor.exe and change crossfire mode to AFR friendly and its working for me! gone from 30-50 fps to nearly a constant 60.

I'm using a 290 with no overclock. I was getting 30-50 fps on that and now with crossfire constant 60 as I said.
