Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

I got crossfire working by the way. Some guy on the steam forums posted an SLI workaround and it works.
Just make a separate profile in the CCC for shadowofmordor.exe and change crossfire mode to AFR friendly and its working for me! gone from 30-50 fps to nearly a constant 60.

I'm using a 290 with no overclock. I was getting 30-50 fps on that and now with crossfire constant 60 as I said.

Cheers, seems to work quite well. Getting frame rates ~100fps now. Menus flicker like mad though.

Entertaining game, Haven't run the benchmark yet but with everything at max including textures at ultra it seems smooth so far at 1080P.

Wonder why they say *6GB Recommended* even at 1080P

It isn't my sort of game, LOTR was meh imo but the game looks stunning.

Think I may make a purchase end of next month.

It is very batmanesque, interesting the orc and uruk level up and increase power when they kill you, nice touch.
Stealth is good.

How do I save progress, can't find any sort of quick save etc.

I posted some pics in the screenshot thread if you want an idea what it looks like maxed out with ultra textures. Bear in mind Those are taken at 3440x1440 though and resized down.
I don't think you can save manually lol I just wait till I finished and mission and then quit the game and it seemed to save.

Absolutely loving the game so far. Yet to do the first mission because I'm too busy slaughtering hundreds of orcs running the human prison camps where you start out in. The combat is very batman like but imo a lot less button mashy. Climbing is very AC like if you're a fan of the games.

Not sure how saving works yet either...

Streaming the game on and off for the next hour or so at http://www.hitbox.tv/Kainzy

Anyone do any testing yet with the Ultra settings?

Interested to know if that 6GB VRAM requirement is true!

Matson is running the game maxed at 1440p with ultra textures on a single 290 and getting around 30-50fps. Seems decent for a single card and it also looks like the 6GB for ultra textures was a complete over estimate by the devs.

I'm very calm thanks, touched by your concern :)

We're a big cuddly family here, we take care of our own.

Anyone who's played it a bit - is the story a pointless tacked-on justification for "assassin's batman creed goes to LOTR" or is it actually any good?

(either way I'm giving this a go, it looks silly fun, but if the lore side is good too I may get the Mrs playing.)
