Does anyone Live in / know of Milton Keynes?

I'm looking for a house and need some advice about good areas to look for a house.

I have a list of Areas to live in, have i missed any out?

The Shenleys
Tattenhoe
Willen (and surrounding areas)
Westcroft
Walnut Tree (i looked at some areas, looked very "chavy")

I understand they are the nicest of areas and a few surrounding "estates" around these chosen ones are also very good.

I'm rulling out Emerson Valley, Monkston, Furzton and Crownhill as some of the areas look pap, am i wrong in doing this?

Areas such as bradville, Coffee Hall, Heelands are an obvious no!

Also are all estate agents complete idiots/ arrogant sales people? The only one i have liked so far are Ryan Daniel! I have found many very unhelpfull :(

Thanks for any help!

You cant really go wrong with any of them mentioned above.

I would look again at Emerson Valley. If you look near the emerson valley primary school theres some nice houses. But if you look near the clocktower pub its not as nice of a area. Same with the shenleys some of the areas are nice but some are not so nice.

Id also have a look at grange farm, kingsmead, oxley park, middleton and monkston. If you don't mind being a little outside maybe look at aspley guise and wavendon.

Any questions about MK feel free to PM me

Willens probably the best of the bunch there (despite what my profile says i grew up near newport pagnell and MK is a bit like home to me)

The ones you have rulled out sound about right really (from what i remember) and most of mks estate agents are complete *****.

Have you considered newport on the edge :) and more importantly what do you want from the area? (ie close to the centre, really regular buses, good more local stuff and so on)

lol...least you ruled out Furzton :p

I live near Milton Keynes..Not entirely sure where I would live if I was to move there...But Willen as you said is apparently quite nice.

Theres always Newport Pagnel as well, which is on the outskirt :)

Estate agents are all pap in MK!

Other areas to look at are
Stony Stratford (Great little village)
Old Stratford (great for traffic links to surrounding villages/towns and beyond) - this is also were i live :)
Newport Pagnel
Woburn Sands (bit out of MK but very nice!)

Is it a must to be in MK? As the surrounding villages are a lot nicer in my opinion.

^^ forgot about the startfords! One is technically in northamptonshire though (cant remember which one).

There are some really really nice villages a few miles out from mk (and a couple of good small towns like olney last time i was there)

Old Stratford is Northampton, i'd like to know why to forget about the strafords? there a lot more individual than the estates within MK.
Admitidly i've only lived here 2 years but they seem a lot better than 90% of the estates

He said 'forgot' about the stratfords ;)

But yes, surrounding villages are nice also, or villages a few miles away...as I live in one of them :p

the areas around the local centre and the middle school in walnut tree are chavy but the other areas are nicer (i.e. near the farm shop). monkston is pretty new and is quite nice from what i have seen.

I used to live in the big houses looking over Caldecotte lake and that was very nice.
Very expensive though so may be out of your reach.

Old farm park and Browns Wood are fairly good aswell.

what about old bradwell gfs aunt lives there and its nice

also try some of the smaller villages over the border in northamptonshire

turvey harrold etc

Anyway turvey is nice, but newton blossomville, clifton and the other villages towards olney in bucks are nicer :D (theres a little bit of home pride for you)
