Min brake disk thickness Honda Accord?

My ZS passed on below minimum thickness discs, I only know this as a couple of weeks after the test I noticed a juddering.

One of the discs had actually cracked - not a total split but it ran from the perimeter to the middle of the disc and you could feel it with your finger. When I measured them, they were 1.5mm under (solid discs, so quite a lot).

These days I make sure they're always above minimum.... :p

I did my mate's 03 2.4 Exec discs and pads all round with EBC oem stuff for about £200.

No one pointed out that discs can't really fail an MOT for being worn to whatever mm, they can only fail for being seriously weakened or warped or pitted enough to cause juddering. You got bent over royally there mate. Main dealers fine till the warrenty is out, then you really should use an independant. Full Honda history will only add about the extra you cost yourself on that bill to the value of your car, so really not worth it. And stamps in a book mean nothing too, you need paperwork to back it up!

So if parts come to around 200 then it cost 72.50 per corner labour to have the disks and pads replaced so don't think that that's bad, is it? In all honesty I don't think an indy would have been much cheaper. In fact it was cheaper for me to get the car serviced and MOTed at Honda then the indy that I normally use.

Anyway the cars braking system is so much improved that ignoring my reamed wallet I'm glad I got it done. :)

Whaaaat!

I'll have some of your money, you obviously have too much. :p

Mintex OEM kit for my 600 was £49 plus £45 for the rears, discs and pads.

Nothing to do with too much money I'm afraid.

It's more a case of I don't have the tools (although I did change the front and rear pads on mine and wifes car last time but I borrowed the tools that time), I didn't have the time to get the car back to do the work or even take it elsewhere and lastly I simply couldn't be bothered. :)
