Mindless vandalism

Sorry to hear of this?

Are you going to need to dismantle the doors to remove the handles for a proper clean or can you get it all off?

I've removed 98% of it but there are still tiny remnants in the nooks of the handles if you look closely. I'm hoping a machine polisher will finish it off.

You could think about a Blackvue car cam, it records when parked movements around the car, you'd need two for complete protection.

A Mondeo isn't a typical target for jealousy-induced vandalism though surely?

I've had it with an 8 year old Focus, just because I actually look after it - everyone gives me funny looks when walking past just because I'm washing it

- I don't talk to anyone on my road
- I park my car outside my house
- I drive sedately
- I don't play loud music

Yet I've have the guts ripped out of one mirror and a key down my rear quarter, oh and a random kick on my rear bumper.

But it usually does.

Mindlessly booting every wing mirror off on the street or keying every car in a row is the stuff of morons however a single attack usually means you've done something someone doesn't like, yes it may not but it usually does.

Does it? I'd like to know what evidence you have for such an assertion.

My car is spectacularly shiny :D I do love to detail when the weather is nice at the weekend :)

I actually never wash it outside my own home as I don't want to draw undue attention to myself. I always detail at my partner's house as she lives in a much more pleasant middle class area.

In Yorkshire? I thought we were better than that. I'd be livid.

Well I'm a southerner born and bred but I've lived in Yorkshire for approaching 10 years. Aside from the odd racist taunt in the early years I love living up here. Its been good to my family. Of course you can't get a decent bag of fish and chips up norf, but thats another story. :p

Or, alternatively, give the children you brought into the world through no fault of their own the best chance you possibly can and send them to a decent school...

Are you suggesting that there are no decent schools outside of private ones? If so you are wrong. Private schools bring their own problems with social development anyway.

I know it's OT but most of my friends who have been to private schools have turned up a lot worse off in life than the people who just went to regular schools.

I know this isn't anything to go off overall but just my experience!

My brother has just had some mindless thugs yank the wing mirror off of his car and about ten others in the same road. Why can't people have respect for someone else's property?

I have observed the opposite - of course exceptions in both situations. Swings/roundabouts I guess.

Anyway - back on topic - my beaten up old 130k mile focus got keyed last year, all the way from the wing to the rear quarter. It cannot have been jealousy unless they had a particularly odd lust for beaten up 5 door silver focuses - just mindless vandalism as per the OP.

Should be shot IMO.

So why don't they take it upto the guy, face to face if they have an issue with him. Got an issue with someone, then speak to them and resolve it.

Bit cowardly though to just vandalise someones property.

But going the private route guarantees your kids go to a good school rather than crossing your fingers and hoping that they get a place in the school of your choice rather than being lumped with the kids from the rough end of town at the Crapton Academy.

Anyway, good to hear that you have pretty much sorted it.
