Well let's light up the area around spawn and build a small wall around what we've lit. 1 torch every 4 blocks works, might even be able to get away with less than that but I haven't tested.

Now you guys finally see how hard it is to make good stuff on singleplayer
Thanks Gar. It is sambessey.
If you want to chuck in a few coal too, that would also be great
Thanks for the support.
Once my ban is over ill pop on and not use flint again, just incase Takeo accuses me of giving the world AIDs or something
Like I have said, even if you make a creeper proof house that won't allow mobs to spawn nearby due to being too well let, it won't stop the griefers who keep luring them to other peoples houses.
because we've put 10's of hours in to this server and built a community ? not that hard to understand is it?
creepers are everywhere atm, you literally have to light every square inch of land just to stop them appearing - you know have to look at the buildings around spawn to see the damage they have done, dpesite being well lit in most places. I think this needs to be addressed in a patch or something, they are far too frequent.
Thanks to whoever got rid of my building right behind the aforementioned tower, and then had the cheek to put a sign saying 'under construction, do not build here'.
Thanks to whoever has got rid of most of my flooring around my lit up tower near spawn, which includes getting rid of my obsidian farm (and all of the steps leading up to it and other places), and then leaving it on an island of land making it hard to get to. Oh, and then surrounding it with a big ugly wall of obsidian.
creepers only explode when you're next to them, lead them away from buildings to protect them.
Although we have creepers wreaking havoc amongst the buildings it seems no matter what, it descends in griefing accusations. Rather than resort to this, we can become roaming bands of repairers to offset the creepers. Yesterday I fixed up all the damage to Andy's house and this morning did the same to jmillers, there is a certain satisfaction in putting things back in order. Hopefully I've got the repairs right as I'm working from memory having visited their places a few times. I'd encourage others to carry out repairs wherever they see damage, bring back the feeling of community!
