If it's already had a new clutch surely that suggests that the car has had a very hard 68,000 mile life? As with most cars these days, its not neccesarily the engines that are going to fail. For your money you should be able to get a facelift model which will solve the tumble flap worries, give you more kit as standard and look better inside and out. There are plenty of 1 owner FSH examples about too if you're not fussed about trim level.

at the end of the day an lx will suit me fine, plus im not going to complain for £1300 including 6 months tax! its only going to be used as a daily hack to stop myself using my golf rallye during the winter. i was even suprised it had a heated windscreen never had some luxury before lol
