mk3 mondeo and st170 alloys...

hi all,

I'm going to see 2 dark blue mk3 mondeos today for around the 2k mark. I really like the look of the st170 alloy wheels and have seen a price on ebay at 400 quid, although that's not a buy it now price.

I'm just wondering what are the standard sized wheels of a mk3 mondeo LX, 02 plate? Is it 16" ?

mk3 mondeo = 5 stud.

focus ST170 = 4 stud.

ah bugger, i thought that was the case initially but my friend told me last night that i could put them on. I'll have him by the collar when I see take him to see the cars with me today!!!

How much are ST220 alloys these days? much better looking.

Or, not sure which model they came with, but there are some nice standard 5 spokes on mk3 mondeo's.

ST220 alloys are lovely, thought will probably make your car look like it is on stilts!

yo, bought an mk3 today and was just wondering - i was just wondering if uprated suspension is essential when fitting st220 18" alloys to an mk3 mondeo LX standard rim 16"? Appreciate any advice / help.

Standard rims are 205/55 R16's and ST220's are 225/40 R18's - is the suspension too soft ? will it cause banging or rubbing of the arches?

Its not essential, however when you fit bigger wheels it increases the height of the car and just looks stupid.

Either get some lowering springs or fit st220 suspension for the factory look.

I really like the wheels from the zetec-s also.
