MK4 Golf failed on MOT, does this seem like a trustworthy repair cost?

woopsie

my outside bet is that the ball joint was removed from the wishbone. the clamps do not last well due to exposure to elements. i recon he bolted it back up and it has come loose.

if its not that id be really worried

why? It really sounds like the garage is making stuff and then bodging the car to death?

There fixing at their own expense not mine.

Not paying them a penny as they ballsed it up by the looks.

Why should I take it to another garage and pay out of my ass at this point for something which was down to them?

As it seems mighty high, I dont have any experience with most of these parts, so dont know what the hell to check

1) Driver side headlamp kicking out an offside pattern

2) Nearside shock absorber leaking

3) Rear tracking arm bushes need replacing

4) Offside front wishbone bush needs replacing

5) Offside front prop strut mount

Parts & Labour - £300

:(

 would not even pay that price over here in Ireland, man you are been ripped off, do it yourself, very easy job to do lad :D

It was a decent enough price, and if they fixed their own problem for free even better.
Interested whether the top strut bearing had play or was stiff/seized. Used to be able to fail those for being stiff or seized before they changed the rules.
