Hi all, recently had my service and although I didn't get the service is x miles leading up to it, I tested by holding down 0.0 before I turn on ignition on the dash and I get service now! Displayed.

I am trying to reset it by holding down 0.0 before ignition, then when service now is displayed press min.

This is supposed to reset it but it doesn't. When I press 0.0 then turn on ignition it still displays

Any ideas?

Find someone close to you that has VCDS and they can reset it in a matter of seconds.

I have never heard any of the VAG cars being able to be reset the service indicator without a cable and software.

EDIT - It seems that you are right, it can be done as described. However if it doesn't work, VCDS is the answer.

I'm pretty sure you can only reset it depending on if your car is setup either to longlife servicing or the normal annual service. Can't remember which of them you can reset yourself and which has to be done with vagcom.

My service is every 10k

You are able to reset via buttons on the dash. Done it a few times when the garage forgets to do it

Bit different this time though as I don't get service now warning when I turn on ignition only, but does if I do the check status (hold 0.0) and turn on

Will check with cable
