MMO-Pirates of the Burning Sea - F2P within hours

Isn't this a bit late to the Pirates of the Carribean party? Hell the woman in the banner on that link may aswell be Keira Knightley...
 
Well i have always wanted a go at the pirate mmo and with it going free to play now i can have that chance. I thought others who havent subbed this mmo might be interested in trying it out now that its going f2p and have a blast being a pirate in a mmo.
 
Played this a few years ago in the beta, the naval combat was pretty good but the land combat was awful.
Downloading it, hopefully they have sorted it :)

It was released in 2008, so was only just after the last of the movies, so would have caught the end of the party. But I remember it being not very good, which is why I never subbed to it.
 
I played this on release: I found the economy to be broken, the seas controlled by Nations that had the most post-beta early rollers (On the server I was on France :(), the land based sections were horrendous and the whole game suffered terrible lag because the servers all being located stateside! Has there been any improvement?
