I hate that oriental look that many Mmos have today. I much prefer that evil Medieval/Fantasy look. This may sound kiddish but I'm hate the homo looking oriental armour I often see in Mmos these days and much prefer that (I'm immortal and going to rip your head off Medieval looking armour.)

It makes you appear a lot cooler and a lot less of a girls blouse.

(That's my childish rant for the day)

Is City of Heroes the only modern day based MMORPG? (PlanetSide doesn't count!)

I think it was the first decent one, which is what drew me to it. Rather than running around killing rats with a rusty sword i got to blast the crap out of thugs with superpowers.

No other MMO's appeal to me.

I like CoH because of it's modern day feel and also it's very visible power effects :) It's also got a great community and it's one of those games you can play for half an hour or half a day :)

Shame CoV is a bit of a flop and pretty dead. I'm playing Oblivion at the moment which is chewing up most of my gaming time, but online I do have CoH, Everquest2 (which I will probably cancel as I find it dull and not a very social game), and WoW.

WoW is alright but seems very cartoony - the ninja looting culture is really annoying me too. I'll give it a few more goes.

I'm still hoping Tabula Rasa will be good. although it hasn't been getting great reviews, but I'm still going to give it a go. We need more fps's and less of this click rubbish.

Probably. There's EVE Online as well, but that's rather futuristic :)

I can see what you mean, I have seen so many of these stupid oriental mmo games. I play WoW and i like it...its not too much of a grind, good pvp, etc. But things like final fantasy and rf online...ergh grinding is all you do. Every quest i did in rf online was "kill 10 of x-monster" then "kill 20 of x-monster" which does get a little annoying...but the worst was "get to level 20 and then speak to me for more missions" so no quests till you grinded numerous levels.

Graphics are the problem is the playstyle...chinese and japanese love just endless grind.

imo the graphics have a nice feel to them, i also never really felt like i was grinding in wow, levelling was pretty quick, combat seemed pretty involving and there were always quests to do

at the end of the day none of its real so i dont see why you have a problem with slightly cartoony graphics

wow never really had a ninjalooting culture atleast not when i was playing it(probably all the kiddies that started playing recently are the culprits)
