Mobile Contract Annual Renewal - The Cheek!

I did manage to negotiate down their all-rounder iPhone SIM only plan from £47 to £12pm - this offers unrestricted network speeds, network prioritisation, EU roaming and an add-on so I chose Apple Music worth £11pm.
How?! That's an insane deal!

The problem with the virtual networks is network priority and lack of some features like some have mentioned.

Additionally, EE cap most of their tariffs speed wise to 100mbps.

It's obscene that they can "discount" it to that price and still make a profit. Shows just how much of a rip-off £47 is.

They shouldn't be allowed to increase prices. It's supposed to be a CONTRACT. And a contract should be fixed until it ends. You're not allowed to end it until it finishes so they shouldn't be allowed to increase it either.

It is a contract. A contract where you've agreed to price rises.

Retentions.
Retentions team was also how I settled for an unlimited data with EU roaming (speed capped at 100mbps) plan for £12pm, but your deal makes mine look pants!

Were you already on the all-rounder iPhone SIM only plan prior to getting this deal, or did you move from a different plan to this one? Wondering how they managed to offer that plan at that price...

That's fair. I was already on an all-rounder plan but paying £28pm. They just added more discount and we agreed for it to be a 30 day rolling simo.

The 30 day rolling simo sounds even better! You can decide to leave with only a month's notice and not get locked into a long contract. Beneficial when the usual annual price rise is coming up, you don't have to accept it as you could leave and find a better deal elsewhere, but I'm not sure whether anybody else could beat the offering you've currently got

I'm really surprised they offered all of that for then it to be a 30 day rolling simo too. Your deal might be the best deal that I've ever heard of.

I have been with them for probably 18 years now and have BB plus other lines. That does help with the negotiations - I mentioned that I was looking to move everything. I'll upload a screen shot later showing the discounts.

Here’s the summery of my discounts as mentioned:

You've got yourself an absolute bargain. Well done.

I'm assuming you have EE broadband? EE offered me to switch to it last year as they merged with BT a couple years ago, but I declined and wanted to stay on BT as long as possible. I've read nightmare stories of people switching from BT to EE broadband, like the new EE routers having a lot of issues compared to the existing BT ones, but not sure if this is still the case. I currently have no issues with my BT setup, so if that was to suddenly change when migrating to EE, I'd be very annoyed.

Agreed, it's an outstanding deal. I also have a note on my mobile account stating that they'll apply another credit to cover the annual price increase - I just have to call them post increase. They agreed to this as I expressed concern about the increase given that I've only just taken this deal out and how close we are to the price annual increases.

I have a WiFi 7 mesh system so I don't use the EE router. No issues with their BB. They also made my other Simo unlimited data and discounted that down to -£1.95pm. So effectively I pay £10pm for the two Sims. The other SIM isn't an all rounder but it's unlimited with unlimited speeds. It's worth taking their BB. I also got a gift card for £170 when taking their BB and they paid my £280 early termination fee with one stream.

Man... how are you getting all of these wins?! I'm quite jealous. I suppose being a customer for 18 years does help, but I've never heard of a company going this far. When I used to be with Virgin for BB and mobile for a similar length of service, they couldn't offer me much before I left them for BT & EE in 2021.

I enjoy the challenge of a good negotiation - I spent a good hour on the phone with the agent. One tip is to negotiate via BB retentions and not the regular phone retentions team.

Good tip, thanks! Given that I have not migrated from BT broadband to EE BB yet, I might give this a go at some point.

How did you get through to BB retentions? Is there a phone number? Do you have to say that you want to leave?

My EE router is junk. My smart devices often just drop off the wifi. There are a couple that are outside, but still only 10 feet away from router which often drop out and hoped using one of their extenders would sort that out but nope the extender would often drop off the wifi which meant every device connected to it would stop working. No errors on the extender only way you would know is to open the app and see its offline, but I would have devices inches away from the router that for no reason would connect to the extender instead got so fed up with it just stopped using it. Now have to restart the router 3 or 4 times a week just to get devices reconnected, its been replaced as well and still have the same issue. EE blame my kit but the previous BT Home Hub managed to keep everything connected fine and if it is my devices how come restarting them doesn't get them to reconnect but restarting the router does!

Yeah stick with the BT kit

BT and EE Retentions is one team. So call BT BB, tell them you've found a great deal, use uSwitch to compare as they have the gift cards, mention the gift card. The first agent won't be able to do much, ask to speak to retentions and also tell them you'd be interested in a Simo at the right price - go hard. Be friendly, ask about their day etc. It can be done for sure.

That's a shame. My EE router is still in the box. I have a TP BE85 WiFi 7 mesh system. It's brilliant and I get the full speed throughout my house.
