Hi all, does anyone have any recommendations for a easy to use mobile phone for my mum who is in her 70’s?

She is using some prehistoric relic at the moment on PAYG.

Price up to £150 and must be easy to make calls, take a nice photo and a very loud ringer (think air raid siren loud) as she is almost completely deaf.

Probably some kind of Android device but I am clueless when it comes to Android mobiles.

thanks

If you use iOS (which you don't make clear, but imply), then why not consider a second hand iPhone 8? My mid-70s mother has my old 6s and uses it without a problem. The benefits of an iPhone in this case being iMessage and Facetime, depending on requirements to stay in touch with family who might also have iOS devices. The ringer isn't particularly loud, but I don't know of many/any which are these days.

Alternatively, a cheap Chinese Android of which there are plenty and of which I have no experience in order to make a recommendation. Many of these devices are also enormous, if that's an issue.

Decided to give my mum an iPhone 6s from my wife and in turn my wife gets my 2020 SE and for myself a new iPhone 12

She has a iPad so it makes sense to give her an iPhone so the photos she takes sync and backup automatically to the icloud
