Hello,

I'm trying to source a new mobo for my upgrade as I want to keep my options open for either sli or xfire.

I'm quite new to all this but for a bit of searching i have come across this

Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4 Motherboard 1156 Intel P55 RAID Gigabit Ethernet ATX

Will that be good for my i7 860?

Or anything better?

Thanks in advance!

Thats good for what you want, it does Crossfire/SLI at 8X/8X and even has some USB3.0 and SATA3.0 ports on it.

perfect thanks for your time!

ohh also can anybody recomend me a cpu cooler to go with it?

edit

is this MOBO better ASRock P55 Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Free bundle SATA3 6.0Gb/s, 16+2 phase, Quad SLI Intel Motherboard

A good cooler for around £25 is a Gelid Tranquillo or Coolermaster Hyper212+

Check ypur case has the room inside to be able to still close the side panel, same does for the RAM height.

As for the Asrock board, I wouldn't purely on the assumption these boards came out around the time when Asrock were still rubbish.
