Howdy,

Unsure of where to post this because it concerns two pieces of different hardware. Basically my friend has just setup his new rig and he's having problems with the PCI network card he had previously and his new motherboard.

Could it be a faulty mobo or just some inconstancies with computability between the two?

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3P
Card: Netgear WG311T

Problem:

When the card is in Windows start-up hangs and freezes and refuses to boot the Windows login screen. Windows only starts up once the card is disconnected.

Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

Ditch it and get a different card, I maybe be biased but i've had so much trouble with network cards working in some comps and not others, (especially belkin ones who i have vowed never to touch again). Intrestingly enough I have a 54mbit version of that card and it would freeze my friends socket A athlon but worked fine in my 939 athlon. I the end he got an x-micro usb one that works perfectly. I would use wires but I cant be arsed to put wires throught the ceiling just yet.
