Don't shows like this really have their cultural roots in the non-melting pot that is the USA? And of course what happens in the US eventually makes it over the pond whether or not it is relevant to the black experience of British society.

I can't think of anything I'd want to watch less!

You should check them out, it's just a big opry really. Yeah, the whole awards bit is a bit rubbish (but aren't they always?) but the music and the atmosphere that seems to be there is great and comes across on telly just fine.

Country is great, embrace it.
