Is there any way of getting round the model report for registration purposes in the UK? The car im looking at is mitsubishi rvr 1998 onwards but it dosent seem to have a model report at the moment. Can i get round this? Thanks.

I think its something to do with importing, and as a result I seriously doubt that its "aviodable" seeing as it will most likely need testing as well as registering into UK databases.

But as already said in this thread, I never understand ANYTHING that ElRazur talks about on this forum. Typo in his sig maybe? "Black  intelligent" reads "lacks  intelligence" :p

does this make any sence to anyone?

yup makes perfect sense. It is motors forum afterall, I'm sure some of the stuff posted in other forums make no "sence" (sic) to people who don't know much about the subject :) For instance first post on gen hardware I picked up "ive seen a mini itx system but all that my brain can think about is, "what possible use is that ???" as for htpc... not a clue, enlighten me " :)

If theres no model report then as said you either just have to wait or pay to have one done :(

Surely it just needs to be SVA'd? to make sure it fulfils UK safety legislation.

Its a more extensive test than the MOT but its not too costly, unless it fails of course. This is what you do with kit cars which have no model report.

Eidolon, andi and Ev0 thanks for that. Iirc, someone mentioned in here how one can avoid the evsa for car under 10years old or something along those lines.

It is kinda weird man, there is data available for HRVs from 1999-2000 but none available for new model RvRs

I after one of both but the rvr looks better and comes with a triptronic gear box just like the fto. Im sure there should be a way round some how.

The price you see is the price of vehicle landed in the UK port, all fees paid. Just pick your vehicle up and MOT it. A SVA test is needed for vehicles under 10 years old.

Looks to me that all you need is an SVA

Edit: Scrub that you will need a model report

Ask the importer if they have one you can hire, if they are selling these then there must be one somewhere which you can get hold of, that VOSA list isn't exhaustive by any means

Thanks man, it really sucks with this whole model report thing. I wonder as to why we do them here. Surely car from Japan will meet proper safety checks etc.
