My name is Jonny69 and I hate modern cars. I don't like being cooped up in a bland soundproofed box isolated from the road. I want to be part of the experience.

Looking for other like minded individuals.

I am signing up to this, although if they had some modern things in older cars without all the driver aids and 500kgs of impact bars/airbags I would be happy.

ie Aircon, DSG, mapable management.

Think one of these

But instead of turning the bottom and tightening a nut, you can sit in the warm car and play with a laptop.

Or one of these,

But instead of unding screws and swapping brass bits, you again sit in the warm with a laptop changing numbers

:p

Hi there, I like old cars but can't be bothered with rust, so instead get British cars that have had 10p spent on R+D and therefore have less features than a Morris Minor.

Casual sex optional.

modern cars have a place... driving doesnt have to be a test of endurance all the time and 95% of drivers on the road wouldnt survive without all the cottonwool

It would be rather interesting to see what it's like if everyone had to switch back to non servo assist drum brakes all around for a day. Imagine the carnage

IDD but wouldn't it be nice to have the option?

Wouldn't matter about drum brakes if the cars weighed 800kgs ;)

imagine life without parking sensors and aircon to clear the windows in a hurry

i suppose half the country is driving about on dark horse ditch finders so maybe im underestimating the countries driving skills

I agree, look at any mainstream product from VW these days, they are the definition of bland.

I think MX5 pwns this part, it's reliable enough to be driven all the time, it's cheap too. Missing out on practicality though.

I want in too. There are some modern cars I like, but they're usually expensive ones! Modern sensibly-priced eurboxes are too bland, and have been for a long time.

When driving purely to get the job done (ie 90% of the time) I like the mod cons.

When driving purely for fun I want to be more involved with what the car is doing.
