Does anyone know how I could get hold of one of these cables (any length is fine)? I've gone through so many pages of products its unbelievable how hard they are to get hold of! Its for a custom drive enclosure external to the pc and I would like it to turn on / off with the pc..

On a slightly related note, who pays the import tax on imported items? If the buyer does how does it get paid?

All you need to do is get two female molex plugs and the correct gauge wire.

Chop the female plugs off, extend the wires, solder and done.

If you want to be flash you can get a molex pin removal tool for peanuts and sleeve the cables.

Thanks BringTheRain, i know its obvious but thanks again, I'll go at it that way then! haddows101 that's nearly there, but unfortunately all the hits are in America!

Many thanks for the info and offer of your construction services! I won't take you up on that, it will be a while before its needed so :)

Aww! When you get round to it I will be more than happy to pay for delivery and parts, its only fair! :)

I have molex connections coming out of my ears lol. As with all the other parts. Postage will be peanuts, don't worry about it I will cover that. Also what length would you like?

Not many people like you around these days. You totally deserve the cool avatar :p

Thanks bud :)

A slight confusion over what's female and what's male it seems. The Male looking connector is indeed the female connector according to Molex. They must get their gender from the terminals involved rather than the actual gender of the connector itself. Some sites say they are Male and some say they are Female.

So I assume the OP wants a connector system with this connector on both ends?

Makes sense as the Molexes inside the computer are all the mating half to that and the OP must have the wrong half on the custom enclosure and explains why it's so difficult to source one.
