Monitor as tv?

I'm sure this has been asked before (but i hate the search engine on here for not allowing shorter than 3 letter words) but how would a monitor look as a tv for the bedroom. V+HD (HDMI) and pc connected. Obviously it'll display the computer fine but how about the V+HD. It needs to fit in an alcove. so it would have to be 28" max which is basically the hanspree, not sure anyone else makes that size tv. for £250, or can get a 24" monitor for ~£100 2nd hand.

I can't answer your question fully, but I used a 22" LG monitor linked to my media center for all my tv and dvd viewing, also had my Xbox linked to the monitor as well and not had any complaints - bar from a slightly bigger monitor

I have a 22" Acer LCD in my conservatory which I use for DVD and watching Sky (via a cheap Gadmei box) and the occasional Xbox session and find it fine as a TV.
