Still a little too steep for me, but I'm sure you will sell plenty at that price. Much easier to spend £430 than £600+ on a monitor. I think if you didn't take payment right away I'd pre-order one now (same way rainforest does it, but I understand why you chaps might not).

Helps that I bat for the red team as well. Is Freesync pretty much the same as G-Sync in terms of what it does?

When can we expect to see pricing for the TN version of the Acer gsync model gibbo? Got a few quid burning a hole in my pocket.:D

Nothing on the roadmap, I am guessing Asus have some form of exclusive rights on the panel, hence the Acer version being Freesync model.

The Acer G-Sync monitor is IPS, not TN. :)

Ahh, seems i may have misread the article, (cant remember it now). Regarding exclusitivity, as the TN panel in the swift is manufactured by au optronics, (basically benq) id be very surprised if we dont see a similair offering to the swift from benq themselves, something like this would slot in nicely in their XL gaming monitor range.

All the same, very impressive price on the acer freesync model. If i was using AMD cards id be all over that like a cheap suit.:D

I like the specs of the Acer Predator XB270HU a lot. It is basically exactly what I have been waiting for, but WHY is it so damn ugly? If I had AMD graphics cards I would definitely go for the Acer Predator XG277HU.

I just feel that over £500 is not reasonable for a proper 1440p gaming monitor with g-sync. Guess I just have to wait even longer or maybe switch to AMD graphics :(

How much is Nvidia charging for the g-sync module anyway? I could literally buy the XG277HU and a R9 290x and have ~£50 in my pocket. Sure it's TN, but that is not the end of the world.

Interesting and frustrating times indeed.

That Acer XG277HU makes me glad I waited to see what would happen with Freesync and respective pricing before I bought a new monitor and GPU. £200 less than the Asus G-SYNC (roughly) equivalent monitor is amazing.

Acer build quality is pants though.
Yea but Asus's monitors are very much hit or miss as well.

Spec wise, the Acer Gsync looks more attractive than the Swift with its IPS panel.

As for the Acer Freesync, I don't think the price is that great for a TN panel, even if it is a 144Hz. People are sacrificing IPS for TN in exchange for 144Hz, so why should the monitor be priced higher than the average 2560 IPS monitors? :o
