I honestly wishes Nvidia be smart and make their graphic card compatible with their "Freesync monitor" (Adaptive sync monitor in truth) asap. They would only be shooting themself in the foot in the long run if they don't, as it would mean Freesync monitors owners will just be sticking with AMD with no way to considering switching camp again in the future without giving up the sync function.

Are there any advantages of g-sync over freesync; do they both do the same job equally well?

Shame, as by March-time anyone seriously contemplating 4K will surely be looking for a monitor that supports ActiveSync (be it overpriced NVIDIA G-sync or AMD-friendly Free-Sync) which are arriving in more numbers then.
