Hi,

My brother is after a monitor to upgrade from 1080p 60hz to 27" 1440p 144hz

Primary use is gaming, currently has a 1070 but could potentially side grade to AMD because it might be cheaper, all the monitors seem expensive right now, for example I paid £350 for my Dell 1440p 144hz Freesync and there doesn't seem to be anything around that at the moment

Is there anything we've missed that's worth looking at please? Preference is gsync due to the 1070 but Freesync could be an option if there is a monitor available that's cheaper than the gsync versions

Thanks

If he just wants to use it with a single PC and doesn't also have a laptop, then:

27" G27Q-EK https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...e-led-backlit-widescreen-gamin-mo-009-gi.html

otherwise with a KVM:

27" M27Q* https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...led-backlit-gaming-kvm-monitor-mo-00e-gi.html

For similar price at the moment the Iiyama is also worth consideration if the extra screen resolution would be handy, including for productivity use.

G-MASTER GB3461WQSU-B1* https://www.overclockers.co.uk/iiya...esync-ultrawide-gaming-monitor-mo-13j-iy.html

* Doesn't mention Gsync compatible so you should check reviews to see whether others have it working well with Nvidia.

The Iiyama is probably the best bet since it has two DP & two HDMI. No KVM or USB-C but you could pair it with a USB switch (3.0) for around £40 or (2.0) around £20, that would allow up to 4 PC's to share some USB peripherals such as Keyboard & Mouse between them. Alternatively if you only need to connect two computers then perhaps an active DP to HDMI cable would work for the laptop and match that to the Gigabyte with KVM (M27Q). I believe you can use the Gigabyte desktop app to also operate the KVM switch rather than having to reach around the back to use the physical button.

@thenewoc

Hi,

My brother is going to buy my monitor so in a few weeks time I will need an upgrade, I created a thread and no replies so far so was wondering if you wouldn't mind pitching in as you seem up to date on current monitors. I was trying to decide between 4K and UW but the availability of 4K screens seems low compared to UW and I'm assuming that UW is easier to drive than 4K. Here is a link to the thread if you have time to add any recommendations. Thanks.
