With all this talk of throttling, caps etc got me wondering exactly how much bandwidth i'm actually using on a day to day basis.

What software do you all use? I just want something that run's in the background and will say you used 1gb monday, 3gb tuesday etc

theres a program called DU meter thats very good, also one called Netmeter both do an excelent job of monitoring current, daily weekly monthly etc plus you can export to a spreadsheet, if you want a graph of your net usage lol

DUMeter has a free 30-Day trial and is very good software. Buy if you want a long term solution.

However Netmeter is free and does a good job.

If you want to pull usage from your router directy at the ppp interface and your router supports SNMP you could use a very good application called PRTG Traffic Grapher, its not free, but the trial version lets you use up to 3 counters.

I used it for a while to pull various stats and was very impressed by it, it also comes with its own web serving capabilities to push the stats to a nice web based interface.

Most do these days, will usually be under one of your System menus, usually mixed in with things like UPnP options.

From a quick Google the DG834GT seems to have it, whether your custom firmware does, unsure.
