Monster cables issue cease-dessist against BJC

Monster Cable is insisting that Blue Jeans Cable immediately cease and desist all sales, offerings, advertising, distribution, manufacture use and importing of the aforementioned cables. In addition, Monster is insisting a RECALL of such products and a full accounting of all units sold including profits made form the sales.

They're having a laugh, I'm not letting them recall my cables :p

What's so good about Monster cables anyway? I'd never heard of them until about 3 months ago and now it seems everyone else reveres them with some kind of godlike status among cables...

This cable business would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that people are spending £1000 on cables thinking theyre better then some £50 cables..

Yep, I think some of the claims certain manufactures are making about their cables are quite ridiculous. Although the ASA seem to be getting their teeth into Russ Andrews at the moment because of the way he markets his stuff.

I use good quality interconnects in my system for the analogue stuff although nothing stupidly expensive, and as far as digital cables go as long as they are well made and properly shielded then I can't really see much if any difference between the £30 one and the £300 ones.

It's not even just cables though, the audio business as a whole is largely about BS. Cabling is definitely the worst though!

Is there any more detail on exactly what BJC are alleged to have copied and/or what the patents cover exactly?

Everyone seems to be having the same knee-jerk reaction that Monster are being ridiculous. Whilst this is entirely possible, it's also not inconceivable that BJC have copied a truly innovative design in the Monster cables which the latter company have paid out money to research and have taken the trouble to patent. If this is the case, why shouldn't they protect that?

Yeah there's a lot of nonsense out there. I'd like to see the results of some blind testing done on the average joe with a standard cable and the £1000 hyped up stuff.

It provides a level of detail that is outstanding. Its ability to properly control loudspeaker performance is superb. It transmits signals at over 95% the speed of light. Every fine nuance of the musical performance is revealed with xxx.

NASA should be scared, these guys are already at 95% the speed of light whats nasa upto. :p

Because monster cable are like BOSE in the way that they promote their cables with fancy words and designs that are apparently revolutionary in producing things that are either physically impossible, or impossible to determine.

Monster are the worst of the cable manufacturers, still trying to force poele into thinking their cables are like greek gods.

Go BJC, and it is pretty cool that the owner is a lawyer too.

This reminds me when i used to be a HiFi enthusiast, Spent an absolute fortune on getting the ultimate HiFi together and replacing parts as often as PC components all the time being driven by what the experts said in What HiFi!

Looking back it was mostly BS there's minimal difference in analogue interconnects and speaker cables and no difference when it comes to digital.
