Montage type thing to music ?

Its my daughters 12th birthday tomorrow so for the last couple of days ive been busy finding all the best digital photos and taking photos of old pics from the family albums,im posting them on facebook for our family and her friends to see,basically a "first 12 years of her life" type thing.

Ive just had a thought about possibly creating some kind of slideshow adding some music and putting it on youtube,how would i go about doing this just using the photos,my pc,my music collection and a smart phone ?
 
I'm in the process of doing something is similar with sme photo trips I did last summer as an interim before making my website.

There are various ways of. Making the video but to be honest, windows movie maker is adequate for a quick video with nothing too fancy but even this allows you lots of different animations and transitions. Very easy to use and free. I have used various professional products in the past but the complexity made the tasks non trivial and adobe after effects etc are not really needed to make a video from still photos.


use Vimeo instead of YouTube, Better quality. Just sign up and upload afaik.


I am in need of some free music to use.
