Montoya to NASCAR !!!

The description of the forum states 'Impress other members with your knowledge of football or indeed any other sport' and the links sticky in this forum has motorsport links.. I agree it is a grey area tho ;)

Its just the big F1 threads and all the F1 talk lives in the Motors section:)

pah bad news for f1 whilst he hasnt been so hot at mclaren hes a genuine character i would miss in f1,eitherway goodluck to him.....

With Montoya around you always knew something was going to happen, good or bad. He was awesome at tracks like Silverstone, Monza and Interlagos and utterly inexplicable at many others. I'll miss having him around in F1 though.

ROFL! Biggest load on pony i have ever heard! :D Almost as funny as that time they said Jenson Button was going to win a race! :D

Edit...

Heh at myself! Looks like it is going to happen after checking up.

Montoya has has a real bad 2 years at McLAren.
During his 1st season he was out for most of the first half with a 'Tennis shoulder injury', then during the last few races he gave Alonso a few extra points by going off in the final few laps.

This year he’s hardly been mentioned due to lack luster performances.

He joined F1 in hype as a potential multi-world champion and he has completely missed the mark.

Lots of potential that hasn't really lived up to it. The sport needs some new blood.

You could say that about more than half the drivers in F1 though, sadly some rich kid who can pay to drive will take his place in F1

Agreed.. thankfully though it's more likely to be Lewis Hamilton than a 'pay driver nobody' at McLaren. I hate to say it with McLaren being a 'British' team and all but on recent form Kimi needs to get himself out of there to win a championship as they seem unable to build a reliable car these days :(

Still.. I'll miss Juan's character in F1, there are already too many corporate robots who dont say what they feel.

Gotta agree, one of the few interesting characters left in F1. Will be annoyed if Villeneuve loses his seat this year too.

I have only ever been disapointed with most of his performances. When he came into F1 he was going to beat everyone, in just about any car so was the hype. He is a good driver on his day, but doesnt seem to be able to string results together like he used to before F1.

I dont think his driving style overly suits F1 and will probably be better in American racing.

He will be missed in F1 though.

It's a shame he is leaving, as he does create action, albeit not always good but if he is in the mood he is a cracking driver, but probably best for his career he gets out of f1 now and moves back to his traditional oval racing. I suspect he will do very well, maybe challenging for the title within his first season if he performs near his best.

Moving to mclaren never did him any favours it seemed, he was fast and confident at williams but never seemed settled at mclaren.
