More aerospace videos: crosswind landings

This is one of my favs...

I was standing on the ramp watching it on approach. We had been seeing go arounds all day and this then caused a further go around of a VLM F50 whilst the runway was inspected.
There was indeed a mark on the runway given that you could see daylight through the skin!

That is my all time favourite also.. amazed it was cleared to land in the first place!

I need to get my arse down there when there is some cross wind going on :D

The winds that day were within limits for all aircraft. My VLM F50 came in shortly before and there was another VLM inbound from ANR just behind the Swiss. As I say, that went around whilst an inspection was carried out.

The aircraft was floated across the dock and repaired in a temporary hangar.

Some geekness here for you. The engines in the concorde are the same ones that were used in the Vulcan.

Rolls Royce Olympus engine. The concorde had 're-heat' (Afterburner) the vulcan did not

If you have never seen this thing live you really are missing out.

All time great plane. The howl always goes straight through me. Saw it last year at Cosford and impromptu 'training' display this year at Kemble. Seems like this year will really be its last though :(

So a bad pilot was to blame, should be out of the job with that landing.

This guy probably flew Saab Viggens or Gripens before landing this job! Those things are plonked down similarly.
