With the glorious weather today i decided to go for a walk with the fifty and get some shots, all of them bar the photo of the van looking towards Manchester City Centre are with the 50mm, that one is with the 70-200 L.

Brillaint colour, clear, crisp, but the depth of field in some if off putting, and subject matter just doesnt thrill me.

So to be a bit critical.

I know you are just testing but you can move the aperture away from 1.8 :)
I know i can, i also got some shots with it away from 1.8 ;)

I just love the shallow DOF this lens offers, i tried specifically to get shots which would take advantage of that DOF.

When it's stopped down, holy moly at F/5.6 it's sharp

heh, no DoF is fun!

Been playing with my new 85mm F/1.8 today :D

Rather like the telegraph pole, although the bokeh on the line running down it is a touch annoying :\
