They are proposing "super-diversity" and for 16 year olds to take an oath to the country in civil ceremonies next to immigrants! Talk about brainwashing our youth into accepting their vision of the UK.

The government are back tracking so much I think they are going to make just as much mess trying to cover their open policy mistakes.

I cannot imagine a worse government in the UK as these loons!

After a bit digging I found a job vacancy for what they are proposing (already piloted in Slough I think)

Bonding ahoy!

/chance meeting in the street
Teen: "Hello, didn't we meet when we pledged alleigance to the UK together?"
Immigrant: /pulls knife "Yes, now give me your wallet..."

Well, maybe it wouldn't be exactly like that.

Wonder what will happen if you refuse to take an oath over something you don't believe in? What happened to freedom of speech and exhibiting your own thoughts and opinions on how Britain should be shaped?

It's similar to swearing on the bible in court, many people aren't religious or don't think that the bible is worth the paper it's printed on so it's fairly pointless.

taking part in this would mean just as little to many of these kids.

If you want to be sterotypical, the you got it completly the wrong way round.

It would be the local that pulls the knife and the immigrant would probably be in his porshe with a model draped on his arm... :D

Seems to be one slightly odd proposal amongst many others that the Daily Mail would certainly approve of.

No surprises in which of the many proposals the Daily Mail chose for the headline.

Daily Mail friendly proposals said:
The commission, set up by Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly in the aftermath of the July 7 bombings two years ago, condemned many of the practices carried out for years in the name of anti-racism - which have cost millions in taxpayers' and lottery money.

It says translation services that result in local authority documents published in scores of languages should be cut back and the money saved poured into English lessons.

Grants for single ethnic or cultural groups - routinely handed out by councils and lottery boards - should stop unless there is an exceptionally good reason for them. Such grants often provoke jealously and suspicion, the commission says.

It says social housing should no longer be provided for particular groups.

In recent years, flats and houses have been designed by councils and housing associations specificallyto cater for Muslim tenants, for example.

And housing policies should take into account the needs and fears of established populations, according to the commission.

Senior Labour politicians such as Margaret Hodge and Jon Cruddas have spoken of fears among whites that newly-arrived immigrants are preferred for council homes.

I was on jury service recently and found you don't have to swear on the bible. If you're a catholic or christian or whatever, then you swear on the bible, if you're another religion then you swear on that holy book, and if you have no religion at all then you 'affirm', as in you swear to tell the truth.

Which, lets face it, means nothing in court. The innocent will always tell the tryuth and the guilty would always lie.

If they didnt you wouldnt need courts and jurys, just a sentencing office.
