so on the way home from work on the dual carriageway while doing lets say excessive speed, i got hit in the back by something.


not hard felt kinda like someone throwing a tennis ball under arm at you.

nearest car was a good half mile back and crawling but up ahead by about 50 yards was a lorry in the inside lade.

ut i cant think how anything could have come from the lorry and hit me in the back.

no mark on my jacket, caught my at the base of the right shoudlerblade/backpack.

im thinking maybe a bird flying sideways across the motorway flew into the side of my bag and wing hit me maybe?

didnt see anything though.

Stone picked up by your rear wheel?

i dont think so the huge bazzoka exhausts on the blackbird would block anything from the tyre id think, plus it felt large but not to heavy, so dont thinkstone, also no bump.

Coulda been something like a bit of cardboard kicked up by your air flow?

notat the speed i was doing, lets just say i could have gotten a speeding ticket on top of a speeding ticket.



no marks on my jacket or bag either.

I used to get this, eventually caught it on my gopro showed it was actually the double stitched straps of my rucksack - at warp speed, they would flick around like a whip and could feel 10x their size and weight.


Any cord/strap that could be doing that for you ?

That might well be right i dont know if i fastened the straps.


In other unrelated news binned the bike.

Caught the wheel in a pothole just over a crest on a hill/bend on a dural carrige way in town.

Only about 40mphs.

Looks like ive ripped the tendons off the ring finger on my right hand last joint as i csnt steiaguten it but can bend it.


Left hand might have fractured knucklees.

Kevlar all held up as did learher so no akinn loss.

Mallet finger on the right ring finger.

Tendon snapped not sure if its pulled off a leice of boen waiting on xray.

Splint for at least 6 weeks and if its removed even ocne another 6 weeks.

So its gonna stink.

Ita bad inspent 3 hours getting the bike homebefore coming to a and e isnt it pol.

Cant refomen john doe pants enouhh though this is twife this pair has saved my leggs.

But this time they are truley dead.

Might remove all the canvas ourside and have them asnbright yellow kevlar pants

poxket wore through though on the thigh so i had to go running wround the dual carrige way to find my keeys ^_^

Trashed half the altenator has grund down.

Cause its down hill bike qent for miles.

Front wheel is buckled ao bad the tyres flat lol.

Just waiting on xrays if worst comes to worst ill ihave a cast on my left hand and a splint on my right.


I may need to hire and ass wiper

no broken bones, one severed tendon in my right ring finger.

splinted for 6 weeks

its that long thin pot hole along the centre line, its just over the crest of the hill, and i was changing lanes to over take so went sideways across it with the front wheel which snagged.


should have been paying more attention but was tired and frustrated.

That's basically a tramline, probably won't affect cars, but bikers... you can claim off the local authority for damage - car drivers do it all the time for bent wheels etc. You may have not seen it, but the road should be in a better condition to that. Is that a 40 limit?

think its a 30 tbh.
