can someone spec me a race sim for my new g25 wheel
im looking for something as visual as it gets and with the realism of race dynamics
im running E8500 @ 4.2, GTX 295, 8GIG and win7 64
Many thanks

thanks tefal
ive got the demo and im not overly happy with the game
its basically grid but in the dust

why did u choose tefal as your user ? lol

Dirt 2 probably but you need a dx11 card for full beauty.

Huge lol since when as dirt 2 been a driving sim tefal. Its an arcade racer.

Iracing, rfactor, if you into effects.
But for me Live for speed looks awesome and the most realistic with some texture updates and control panel fiddling.

GRID and NFS SHift both have superb graphics and both great games, rFactor has some cracking MOD's but favours realism over pretty visuals ..

grab them all you owe it to your G25 !!

never seen any driving sims with anywhere near acceptable graphics (live for speed, rfactor..etC)

that'll be because driving sim don't have mass appeal and high end gfx cost quite a lot compared to the revenue such a game would make.

Live for speed looks very dated
Anyone got a handy texture pack that are collected into one winrar rather than
each and every piece all over the place?

I disagree totally live for speed is one of the best looking games for me, suppose it depends on if you want Need for speed motion blur and effects.

Live for speed looks clean and realistic. I love its raw look.

Both netkar and gtr-evo also look great and are both sims not arcade racers.

iRacing is semi-good graphically, certainly better (imo) than rFactor/LFS (stock at least)

But as mentioned, generally sims aren't as bothered about graphics as the actual sim part is far more important, and also takes a big chunk of cpu power to do which is gonna affect how pretty the graphics could realistically be...

iRacing is also good as it's the best sim out there :p

Getting my G25 on sunday as an early xmas present from my parents before i leave for australia!

I've currently got

Dirt
Dirt 2
Grid
Need for Speed: Shift

Are these all going to be good with it?

What is the point of turning traction control off? Even real racers use traction control.

In F1? GP2? BTCC? NASCAR?

Very few racing series have Traction Control, easily fits into the 'minority' category.

As for NFS: Shift and turning TC off, might make it harder/better, doesn't make it a sim :p

I've heard of some people struggling to get it set up with Grid, but it'll be good for all those games, sims will 'make more use' of the qualities of the G25 though imo (if you get what I mean)
