What do you lot think is the most over-rated game of the past 12 months? Give reasons too obviously.

My own would be Fallout 4, The Division was a close second but for me FO4:

- No AI, seriously it's worse than previous games
- Graphics look awful without mods.
- Feels clunky, interface, interaction, everything.
- Base building felt like an add on.

I realise plenty of people love the game, but I just can't bring myself to play it any more.

No you're entitled to whatever you want but your reasoning seems a bit flawed.

"Shallow as a puddle".

Firstly the game wasn't meant to be some massive story driven rpg like the Witcher 3 or whatever.

Secondly the game isn't actually that shallow, if you do all of the missions/encounters on the map and don't skip the dialogue there's actually a fair bit to it, the work they've put into the area of the city is incredibly detailed and there's enough to keep you playing for over a month solid if you don't glitch or play 12 hours a day.

I think you're missing the point of "over rated", I'd not say FO4 was poor value for money, likewise I wouldn't say the Division was even though I didn't buy it following a few hours in the beta. I just don't see them as doing anything for PC gaming in general, they are both very much cookie cutter games, FO4 more so imho - it doesn't bring much that FO3 did years previously to it.

I wouldn't say I'm missing the point, both games were rated above your average game by many people.

If your definition of overrated is not doing anything for PC gaming in general we may as well stick 99% of games in that category.

I'm asking for personal opinions and reasons, I still think you've missed the point. In what was is someones personal opinion "wrong" when that's what they are being asked for?

Honestly

You're fixated on critic/community "scores", that's nothing to do with personal experience and opinions of games.

OP didn't rate it as his most over-rated game, that's why I didn't give any reason and no I don't own the game - hence why I'd never say it was over-rated without having thrown a good number of hours in post release (I only played it in beta).

Not at all Ayahuasca, If you really want to know I didn't but the division because it felt too much like borderlands to me but without the humour. Borderlands I could get around some enemies needing 10+ bullets to kill because the setting was pretty insane to begin with but the division, despite having similar elements combat wise was in a very realistic setting, but with completely unrealistic damage to enemies. I couldn't get my head around it, that and the fact cars etc seem to magically no longer work and it was all down to running about, just seemed weird.

I ended up throwing a few quid at Broforce instead lol
