Just a quick question, I'm away for July August September and my MOT for my car runs out 15th August.....How do I stand.....?

Can I take it for an MOT a month and a half late, and does that invalidate the insurance?

there is no fine for not having an MOT as long as it is kept off the road (with the exception of driving it to and from MOT station for a registered appointment).

just get it done as soon as you get back :)

So am I ok driving for a test a month or so late, as long as it has an appointment?

You are to drive to and from the test center, anything else and you will find yourself liable for trouble as far as I am aware.

This also means you are less likely to have to pay for something, as there is less time for it to break. :)

or it'll cost more, 2 months wasted mot, what breaks in a month or 2 especially when it's not being used.

You can legally drive it to and from an mot test centre. As long as the mot is pre-booked. so just mot it when you get back.

It could have been out of mot for 10 years but so long as its roadworthy and you have an appointment you are good to go.

Cancel or freeze your insurance policy if its off road that long, same for the tax. Dont leave the handbrake on if you can avoid it
