Mum has set her heart on getting her self an iPad, i'd appreciate some help in looking for the best price, with regards to tariffs and such as i don't have a clue in this respect.

No competitor mentions please.

Does it matter that her phone is on t-Mobile? Does that help any way on the tariffs?

She is going to want 3G for her work etc, thanks in advance.

Query too - if she needs 3G all the time or only occasionally. If only occasionally may work out chaeper to buyt the iPad and then get a pay as you go MiFI type thingy - that's what I do.

Get an ipad + smart phone, use smartphone as mifi = cheaper and better list of gadgets which can achieve a more versatile mobile internet capability.

My mum has a crappy nokia, she wouldn't know this mifi stuff!

Just need to find a cheap price for the actual iPad now when we go shopping for it saturday!

Whilst both of these option have great versatility they aren't that practical for your average iPad user...

Hell even a geek like me much prefers the in built 3G. I get my iPad out and *BOOM* 3G with no faff.

Oh and OP I use 3 and that seems to be a good deal and great 3G service.

Hold power on, wait 45secs or so.

Use iPad..

Hold power off..

With my three MiFi contract of £7.50 per 5GB a month. It works out at £90 a year. It costs £100 more for a 3G ipad... and then the cost of the internet..
