I've just ordered a graphics card as the motherboard i have doesnt have any gfx output thing on it.

The problem is i've built my computer and just seen that it doesnt have a vga or any graphic type of port .. so i've purchased an ati radeon 4870 1gb gfx card, i dont know if the computer will work as i havent installed a o/s on it yet as it couldnt see as there was no gfx thing on it.

The hard drives blank so will the gfx card output video on first boot or will i have to do somat else to make it work from start up.

I've got a xp sp3 retail cd and all driver cds..

Yes the video card will work straight away with basic drivers ok until you put an operating system on then run your driver disk to have the graphics work smoothly

Yep, make sure the power plug is connected to the VGA card too (Assuming it needs one!)

I recommend you download all the motherboard / graphics card drivers from the appropriate websites as the driver CD's are all well and good, but the website has the latest drivers and will work much better.
