Motherboard refusing to boot with Ivy Bridge (Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 ver 1.3 + i5 3570k)

Overclockers sent me a message today stating that the CPU is fine and posts!

Serious confusion...

Any other suggestions lads? If it ain't the CPU maybe it's the memory? Perhapsicles?

If it works fine with the SB chip and not with the IB then it is BIOS related. Contact your motherboards manufacturer and ask them what revision you need.

OK so I went over my mates last night armed with the 3570k (which OcUK sent back to me saying it posts fine).

I did the latest BIOS update for his MSI P67A-C45-B3. Btw, the 3570k is apparently supported:

http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-C45--B3-.html#/?div=CPUSupport

Guess what? EXACTLY the same issue. Constant rebooting loop on trying to POST with the 3570k installed. As soon as I put the old 2500k it booted straight away.

I just spoke to a technician from OcUK who suggested I send the CPU and ASRock Z77-E-ITX Motherboard I have in my Prodigy in for testing their end.

This is going to be inconvenient for me - I was wondering if anyone else had any bright ideas? I really am at a loose end here with this CPU. I have now tried it on FOUR seperate motherboards/computers (all with latest BIOS revisions) and same result each time...

Thing is, now that I've tested the CPU with 4x different motherboard setups and had exactly the same issue I can't help but feel derigging one of my builds is unnecessary...

OK thanks guys I am going to remove the motherboard + CPU tonight and send it back to OcUK.

So annoying, this has been a mega inconvenience for me.
